Concept design
Each project starts with a preliminary design. This first phase of the engineering is carried out to identify the key requirements, verify the arrangement of the SBCC system and provide for sufficient selection information and decision points to proceed with the Basic Engineering phase. A 2D arrangement is provided based on the decision points.

Engineering phases
Basic design
Based on 3D-supplied vessel data (by 3D-scan or engineering model), this phase focuses on the creation of a 3D-model of the SBCC system and provides a preliminary retrofit specification and conceptual classification document package. Furthermore a CAD-model assembly will determine the pipe routing.
The initial drawings of tanks, piping, hull & structure, foundations and any other constructions as well as electrical diagrams for new or modified systems of the installation are provided. This design phase is presented to the ship owner for verification prior to continuing with the Detail design phase. The Basic design can be used by the ship owner for tendering of the SBCC implementation at the shipyards.

Detail design
During this last phase, detailed production drawings of tanks, piping, hull & structure, foundations and any other constructions as well as electrical diagrams for new or modified systems of the installation are completed. The engineering package will be ready for the ship owner to submit to the classification society for Plan Approval. When provided the Detail design will be based on specific shipyard standards. Upon approval by the classification society, the Detail design is released to the ship owner for the implementation of the SBCC systems at the shipyard of preference.
